5,000+ Stores and 50+ Brands Now Work From One Stock View
A leading omnichannel retail platform ran store and e-commerce inventory separately. We implemented SAP ECC 6.0 IS-Retail as the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) core for retail, then connected it to the omnichannel commerce platform. 5,000+ stores and 50+ brands now share one synchronized view at 98% platform uptime.
The Challenge
Store inventory and e-commerce inventory were managed separately. Pricing and stock data lived in different systems, and the two sets rarely agreed. The retailer was expanding fast: 5,000+ stores and 50+ brands, all running high volumes through channels that had no shared source of truth for what was in stock or what it cost. Keeping pricing and inventory in sync across thousands of physical stores and a fast-growing e-commerce platform is a high-stakes integration problem. Get it wrong and the customer finds out before the retailer does. A mismatch between what the site shows and what the shelf holds is not an internal problem, it is one the customer sees.
What We Did
We implemented SAP ECC 6.0 IS-Retail as the retail core, then integrated that core with the omnichannel e-commerce platform and the group's other applications so pricing, inventory and product data move between channels instead of being maintained twice. We stayed on after go-live with end-to-end Application Management Services, tuning the integration and the retail core as store and brand counts grew, so high-volume operations kept running while the platform kept expanding underneath them.
The Solution
One synchronized view of inventory now spans 5,000+ stores and 50+ brands. Pricing, stock and product data flow between the retail core and the commerce platform on one path, and Application Management Services keeps that integration tuned as the estate grows.
The Outcome
5,000+ retail stores connected and 50+ global brands enabled on one integrated platform. Inventory visibility improved 25%, and the platform has sustained 98% uptime while carrying high-volume operations across both channels. Store teams and e-commerce teams stopped working from separate numbers. What the site shows and what the shelf holds come from the same record, so mismatches stop being a constant operational risk and start being an exception.
