Digital Orders Now Process in Real Time, Manual Work Down 65%

A global smart-devices leader connected its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to web, mobile and e-commerce in real time. We deployed SAP S/4HANA 1610 with regional rollouts and portal integration, backed by ongoing Application Management Services. Manual transaction processing fell 65%, at 95% system availability.

The Challenge

High-volume transactions ran across web, mobile and e-commerce, with complex tax compliance and reporting behind them, and a rollout that had to reach regional units without disruption. Much of the digital transaction load was still processed with heavy manual involvement, slow to complete and hard to reconcile across regions. High transaction volumes raise the cost of every manual step and every point of tax-compliance complexity. At this scale, small inefficiencies compound fast: manual handling on each transaction becomes a permanent tax on the operation, and reconciliation between regions turns into a job of its own.

What We Did

We deployed SAP S/4HANA 1610 with regional rollouts, then integrated the web and mobile portals with SAP in real time. Transactions from every digital channel now land in the core system as they happen, instead of being collected and keyed in later. We stayed on with Application Management Services covering both SAP and non-SAP applications. That support holds availability at 95%, and keeps the integration performing as transaction volumes and regional requirements change.

The Solution

The ERP and the digital portals now talk to each other in real time across regions. Manual transaction handling is largely gone, the order-to-process cycle is faster, and ongoing Application Management Services keep the system available and current.

The Outcome

Manual transaction processing fell 65% and the order-to-process cycle runs 30% faster. System availability holds at 95% and operational efficiency improved 25%, across web, mobile and e-commerce in every region. Most of the work that used to sit between a customer order and the system is gone. Regional teams stopped reconciling channels by hand, tax and reporting complexity is handled inside one flow, and volume growth no longer means more people processing transactions.
