Seventy Entities Now Run as One, at 30% Lower Cost

One of the world's largest customer experience and business process outsourcing providers, operating in 45+ countries with roughly 170,000 employees, migrated 70 legal entities onto one cloud ERP platform. We standardized finance, procurement and human resources across 23 countries for 1,000 users. Total cost of ownership fell 30%, with no loss of local control.

The Challenge

Multiple legacy systems created complexity across global offices in more than 45 countries. Payroll leakage raised personnel costs, and compliance was hard to maintain country by country. Finance, procurement and human resources each ran on their own systems, so nobody could see the operating model whole. With roughly 170,000 employees, payroll leakage was easy to miss and compliance hard to sustain. That is a cost and a risk that scales with headcount rather than against it, so every new country and every new hire made the problem slightly larger instead of slightly cheaper.

What We Did

We built one cloud platform on SAP Business ByDesign with SuccessFactors, Ariba, Concur and SAP Business Planning and Consolidation, then migrated 70 global entities onto it. Finance, procurement and human resources moved onto the same platform in the process. We standardized finance, procurement and human resources across international operations, covering 23 countries and 1,000 users on one operating model. Local teams kept the control they need in their own markets, while the group finally reads one consistent set of processes and numbers.

The Solution

Seventy entities across 23 countries now run finance, procurement and human resources on one cloud ERP. Payroll leakage fell 18%, compliance is visible country by country, and the group runs a single operating model without taking control away from local markets.

The Outcome

Seventy legal entities migrated onto one cloud ERP and 23 countries now run to the same standard, with 1,000 users on one platform. Payroll leakage fell 18% and total cost of ownership dropped 30%, across an organization of roughly 170,000 employees. Scale stopped meaning sprawl. Adding a country no longer means adding a system, compliance is visible rather than assumed, and payroll costs behave predictably. Cost to run the group came down while the footprint stayed as large as ever.
