A new product line was spun up as its own legal entity and needed a dedicated Enterprise Resource Planning system fast. There was no proven path to integrate that system cleanly with the group's existing ECC/S4 core, so the entity risked going live as a separate island of data. Speed and clean integration usually pull against each other. A new entity that races to go live tends to become another isolated system, a common failure mode in carve-outs. The work also had to be won competitively against tier-one bidders, which meant the plan had to be credible before it was proven.
What We Did
We won the work against tier-one bidders with a named, ready delivery team aligned to the client's business case, so the people who would build the system were the people in the room during the bid. We deployed SAP Business ByDesign for the new entity and integrated it with the headquarters ECC/S4 core, then continued as delivery partner well beyond go-live, spanning multiple years and geographies with a blended team across the EU and India.
